Conscientious Breeding
Some people ask why we take the time to test our dogs and make sure their lines are healthy. Well, our answer is this: conscious breeding. We want families to feel confident in the pup they choose, and we can help that happen by having our Dams and Sires DNA tested and OFA tested, while also doing all we can to make sure they are happy and healthy.

The goal of our conscious breeding is to ensure that our dogs' lines are healthy and clear of any of the most typical (and even not-so-typical) diseases and problems. We also hope to reduce the amount of pups that are placed into shelters, animal rescue facilities, and humane societies. For that reason we include a "Return of Puppy" clause in our contract, stating that we will take the puppy back and find a new home for him/her rather than allow the pup to end up in a shelter.

If you're curious about the testing we do, keep scrolling! We will explain it all, and hopefully it helps give you the peace of mind that the puppy you are choosing is a good pick for you and your family.

DNA Testing
We have all of our dogs tested through Embark, a company that tests for over 200+ illnesses, diseases, and other health factors. By testing the dog's DNA, they are seeing if there is a genetic health condition that the dog is predisposed to developing, along with checking their genetic ancestry to confirm your dog is what you think it is.

OFA Testing
OFA Testing consists of submitting test results to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals as a way to know if our dogs are predisposed to any other physical ailments. We have our dogs tested specifically for hip and elbow dysplasia, two physical conditions to which golden retrievers can be more easily predisposed. Again, the purpose of these tests are to ensure the parents are healthy so that we can try to breed the healthiest puppies we can.
